Chrome Delete
Blacked out trim. Cleaner look. Fully reversible.
Chrome delete wraps every factory chrome trim piece — grille surrounds, window moldings, door handles, mirror caps, badges, trunk trim — in gloss black, matte black, satin, or a body-match color. One of the most cost-effective ways to modernize a vehicle's appearance.
Most vehicles built in the last ten to fifteen years came from the factory with chrome trim that was trendy at the time and looks dated now. Chrome delete takes those pieces and wraps them in precisely cut vinyl — achieving the blacked-out or body-color look without any permanent modification.
The list of pieces we can delete on a typical vehicle: grille slats and surround, headlight and taillight chrome accents, window moldings (the trim that runs along the roofline and A/B/C pillars), door handles, mirror caps and bases, trunk trim, rear badge surrounds, roof rails, and any other chrome-finished plastic or plated metal exterior piece.
The most popular combinations we see: gloss black window trim and handles on a white SUV, satin black grille on a red or silver truck, body-color door handles on a dark gray sedan (which makes the handles almost invisible), matte black mirror caps on a black vehicle (same color but different finish, which reads as clean and intentional).
Plastic chrome vs. real chrome: Almost every chrome trim piece on a modern vehicle is ABS plastic with a chrome-look coating, not actual plated metal. Both surfaces accept vinyl wrap film well. Real plated chrome, which shows up more on older vehicles and aftermarket wheels, also wraps cleanly with proper prep. Adhesion on all of these is excellent.
The technique matters here: small trim pieces with tight curves require precise hand-cutting and careful application to avoid visible seams, edges that lift, or areas where the film didn't wrap fully around an edge. A chrome delete done by someone with a general graphics background but no specific experience with these pieces will often have visible lifting within a year at handle edges and sharp transitions.
We cut film precisely to each piece and wrap edges fully. If you look closely at our delete work, you won't find an edge that doesn't land in a logical place.
Removal: If you ever want to return to stock chrome, the vinyl peels off cleanly — important for leased vehicles, where original chrome is required at turn-in.
